Acoustic Panels

EFI Polymers is celebrating 25+ years in business, many of which have been spent supporting the acoustic panel industry with environmentally friendly, easy to clean up, water based polyvinyl acetate (PVA) materials.  These materials are all tested according to ASTM E-84 Tunnel Test and have achieved a Flame Spread Rating of 25 or less (Class A).

Our PVA materials are designed to be used with fiberglass acoustic panels, mineral wool, recycled materials, foam, or any other porous substrate.  These PVA materials are water-based, and avoid the use of any solvents. They dry tack-free and can be cleaned easily with water.  We have two families of polyvinyl acetate materials designed to improve the efficiency of your manufacturing operation, while reducing exposure of your workers to harsh chemicals found in other products:

Edge Hardener
Our edge hardener material is a modified waterborne PVA resin that is formulated with a unique blend of surfactants enabling the material to quickly and easily penetrate any porous substrate.  The resulting edge is rigid and holds its shape, allowing you to stretch fabric.  This material is applied by dipping, rolling, or spraying.  With the addition of a simple heated forced air system, panels can by dry and ready for handling in as little as 15-20 minutes.

Face Adhesive
A modified, waterborne PVA material, our non-acoustical bridging face adhesives are designed to offer excellent wet tack, quick green strength, and quick setting.  This material also dries tack free, and is easy to apply via spraying.  The unique formulation and application of this material allows you to apply adhesive across the entire face of your acoustic panel without damaging its acoustic qualities.  This wall to wall coverage offers superior adhesion to a variety of substrates, including laminating textiles, wood, vinyl, foams, leather, and other products.
